What You’ll Do:

We’re looking for a Medical Advisor to join our Italian Medical Affairs team at ADVANZ PHARMA, focusing on our rapidly growing biosimilars portfolio. This is a pivotal national and international role with visibility across the European task force and a unique opportunity to build a biosimilars function from the ground up within Italy.

You will:

  • Lead the national medical strategy for biosimilars in alignment with global directives, driving impactful launch readiness and tactical execution.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders in Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial and Clinical, both locally and globally.
  • Represent Italy on the European biosimilars task force, strengthening your international profile.
  • Work with scientific societies and KOLs across Italy, fostering influential external partnerships.
  • Design and deliver medical education plans, engage in scientific exchange, and contribute to publications and external communication.
  • Provide scientific review of promotional and regulatory materials, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Attend and contribute to scientific congresses, advisory boards, and medical education events.
  • Be independent in managing your budget and projects, reporting directly to the Medical Director.
  • Travel across Italy (approx. 50%) to build relationships and engage stakeholders.

 

About You

We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference to patients’ lives and who thrive in an autonomous, cross-functional and internationally connected environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent)

 

Experience & Competences:

  • National-level experience and biosimilar expertise
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in Medical Affairs, MSL or as a Medical Advisor in specialty care or biosimilars
  • Proven experience managing projects with KOLs and scientific societies
  • Fluency in English and Italian, written and spoken.
  • Previous senior MSLs with strong strategic and operational capabilities are encouraged to apply.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong understanding of medical affairs’ role in supporting a product's lifecycle, particularly in biosimilars.
  • Excellent project management, organisational, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High proficiency in scientific communication, including presenting, reviewing promotional materials, and publishing.
  • Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment, compliance, and ethical conduct.
