Senior Manager, Supply Planning

MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE:

 

  • For your designated group of contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) and portfolio of SKUs you will manage the planning, procurement and supply of products to ensure agreed stock levels are maintained to support the revenue targets.   You are accountable for the performance of your CMOs and the availability of products. You should work with the CMOs to ensure high levels of OTIF deliveries, efficient supply plans and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal and external manufacturer and Suppliers to prioritize and deliver products that meet or exceed the business needs with attention to simplicity of design and ease of use/interaction.

•   Develop detailed understanding of manufacturing constraints and capabilities of the manufacturing locations being planned, providing regular feedback and information to drive medium term tactical and long term strategic discussion.

•   Communicate with Supplier/ CMOs and Sales & Operations planning team of Supply Chain Keep all affected parties apprised of potential problems or issues impacting the business, including risks and opportunities.

•   Oversee inventory and supply planning responsibilities for assigned plants and/or co-packers. For some locations/plants, responsibilities may also include inventory stock transfer/replenishment responsibilities.

•   Utilize internal systems to proactively identify and communicate key drivers and proposed solutions to service and inventory issues

•   Study, interpret and develop thorough understandings of problems and opportunities.

  • Develop capacity-feasible supply plans and provide to the manufacturing sites on a prescribed schedule

•   Develop detailed understanding of manufacturing constraints and capabilities of the manufacturing locations being planned, publishing and leading the review of material as needed with plant and business teams.

•   Seamlessly interface with advanced levels of the organization to drive consensus on risks and opportunities and lead the conversations around developing action plans.

•   Present findings that drive understanding, alignment and informed decision making.

•   Coordinate/lead special projects as required. Projects include complex new product launch evaluation, asset utilization studies, supply chain cost optimization opportunities and others as assigned.

•   Engineer tactical and strategic solutions that withstand the variability inherent to the business.

  • Inventory planning: Develop and execute inventory plans for a range of items. This includes short- and long-term plans for items produced internally and externally.
  • inventory management: Monitor and manage global inventories. This includes tracking inventory delivery performance and response time.
  • Maintain and update planning systems, Anaplan, SAP with current and accurate data, including the addition of new orders, changes to delivery dates and quantities
  • Must provide critical thinking, sound analysis, and appropriate decision making in support of both the supply planning and order management activities ( to other team)
  • Procure for discrete group of SKUs with guidance from the Sales and Operations Planning Team
  • Advise management and appropriate internal teams of the current and future status of product supply for existing products for future launches
  • To build effective, professional relationships with selected suppliers.
  • To put in place and maintain a plan for each supplier encompassing day to day operational control, issues management, escalation routes and key milestones
  • To keep appropriately detailed records of all matters pertaining to each supplier.
  • To maintain a supply risk profile by supplier to include a continuous improvement program to mitigate the identified risks.
  • To produce reports to an agreed timetable.
  • To develop and propose a medium-and-long-term supplier strategy.

 

Monitoring performance of the suppliers

  • Developing & implementing vendor performance metrics
  • Tracking vendor deliverables & service level agreements, Drive improvement in the OTIF performance
  • Hold periodic business review meetings with your CMOs, sometimes in conjunction with other company business functions, to discuss:
  • Past period OTIF
  • Latest forecast and implications for CMO capacity
  • Opportunities to develop more efficient supply plans (OQs, campaigning, frequency of orders, mix of SKUs ordered together etc..) leading to improved supply performance and reduced cost.
  • Address the causes of supply delay both internally and externally
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that product is promptly made available for sale upon delivery at the Distributors.
  • Help optimize the supply chain and ensure compliance

 

Inventory Policy

  • Help shape the inventory policy for your portfolio and seek to optimize the working capital associated with them
  • Periodically review the suitability of the policy and make recommendations for changes
  • Put in place supply plans that maintain compliance with the agreed inventory policy

 

 

Supply Planning

  • Using the consensus demand forecast, prepare supply plans for each CMO in accordance with the requirements of the manufacturing and supply agreements.
  • Share the forecasts with the CMOs and discuss with them their ability to support the forecast in short, mid and long term.
  • Raise and submit purchase orders.
  • Pursue CMO commitment to the purchase orders
  • Maintain the companies ERP and other systems such that supply dates and volumes always reflect the CMOs commitment
  • Regular interaction with CMO to ensure anticipated deliveries will be in accordance with the POs
  • Cooperate with Distribution and Logistics function for the collection and delivery of your product from the CMO to the Distributor
  • Raise & Manage issues and support respective team in resolving system related issues
  • Ensure to capture key parameters for planning requirement like batch size, Lead time, etc. and update the Master data on regular basis

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work in partnership with all other functions to deliver own objectives.
  • Represent the Company, enhancing its reputation and importance with our suppliers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Anaplan & Support any system enhancements, UATs, or process digitization projects.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the supply planning function.
  • Document SOPs, develop planning tools/templates, and drive automation where feasible.
  • Support & lead negotiations on supply timelines, batch priorities, minimum order quantities, and flexibility in planning.
  • Engage in discussions on cost-impacting elements (e.g., expedited production, overtime, premium freight) to find optimal solutions.
  • Foster strong working relationships to ensure transparency, reliability, and responsiveness from supply partners.
