Main purpose of the role

 

Reporting directly to the Market Access & Corporate Affairs Director Spain, this person will be able to develop the Spanish market access regional strategy, to advise and make recommendations to the Spanish Leadership Team. Success will be defined by accelerating broad access to patients for Advanz innovative portfolio, while getting access for generics and biosimilar products, and build and maintain strong partnership relations with the healthcare authorities.

 

This role will demand an ability to work strategically and operationally in equal measures. It is fully accountable for Advanz’s market access activities at regional and local level, whilst recognizing that Advanz is a matrix organization and that strong collaboration with other relevant functions is needed to achieve the goal.  

 

The Regional Market Access Manager (RAM) will be responsible to lead the development and execution of the market access strategy in order to secure timely and valuable access of ADVANZ´s compounds in his/her area of responsibility while also assuring availability and reimbursement of the ADVANZ portfolio over time.  He/she will be responsible to ensure that pricing and market access strategies are incorporated in the commercial strategy and that there is adequate value demonstration of our compounds at launch and over time to support market access status in an increasingly challenging environment.

 

The RAM must develop strong, enduring networks with key regional stakeholders as well maintaining the awareness of Advanz Pharma Spain with key decision makers within the regional healthcare system. At the same time the position has an institutional role, as the person should represent Advanz in front of decision makers and health policy stakeholders, to position the Company as reference in the pharma marketplace,  always with the highest standards of compliance and business ethics.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Be responsible, in the area of responsibility, of getting market access to innovative products, generics, biosimilars, and in general every product of the Advanz´s portfolio; while at the same time build and maintain solid relationship with key healthcare stakeholders. The RAM will make the Regional Strategic Plans in the area of responsibility.

• Develop and execute pricing and market access strategies and tactics that maximize access of the current and future Advanz portfolio in innovative products. This includes the management of the regional access processes and milestones.

• Work closely with the medical affairs team to define launch readiness strategies and regional tactics.

• Plan and execute the Regional/Local access plans with the customers assigned while lead and reach out win-win agreements with relevant customers at regional and local level.

• Timely secure access of Advanz generics and biosimilars portfolio at regional and account level, in line with the commercial strategy and business objectives, defining specific account plans and pricing proposals.

• Follow-up of commercial agreements.

• Scanning for public tenders and business opportunities.

• Monitoring of competitor´s activities and follow up on market trends.

• Work closely with the commercial team, to develop a compelling strategy in hospitals and regions.

• Identify key regional healthcare stakeholders, and develop a corporate strategy for Advanz to be consider as a reliable partner for public entities. Build strong partnership relationships with these stakeholders.

• Ensure that all activities comply with regulatory agencies, public policies/guidelines, and with corporate policies and procedures.

  • Develop and track Market Access budgets with MA Director Spain
  • Participate in specific projects of the department when needed
  • Facilitate sharing of best practice with local, country, EUCA and Global  teams when requested.

 

About You

For this role, you will also have the following:

 

Qualifications:

  • Higher level degree (Pharmacist, Medicine, Biologist),  and / or MBA and / or Master in Public Administration and / or Master in Public Health and/or post graduate education in health economics 
  • English:  level B1. Ability to communicate in English language, both written and verbal, across all levels, both internal and external

 

Experience & Competences:

  • At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with proven capacity for launching and negotiations            
  • Demonstrable experience working within a commercial environment, preferably market access, across different indications               
  • Experience when dealing with regional healthcare stakeholders and build strategic regional plans
  • Proven participation in business processes and projects in close coordination with the rest of positions in the field (MA, commercial, Medical)                       

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Good understanding of market access (HEOR, HTA etc.), pricing and reimbursement procedures for pharmaceuticals within the regions of responsibility
  • Broad knowledge of products across multiple indications
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while keeping attention to priorities and deliver under time constraints
  • Deep knowledge of public tenders procedures

  • Ability to communicate in English language, both written and verbal, across all levels, both internal and external                  
  • Strong problem solving, and persuasion skills; being able to execute solutions/deliverables in a timely manner.       
  • A proven ability to focus and work with attention to detail, along with retaining critical information.
  • Strong negotiation skills           
  • Capability to coordinate action plans and implement strategies in coordination with other positions in the field
